The epaper projects

Electronic paper display (EPD) devices are reprogrammable paper like display's that can retain their image without power.

For me, as a digital artist, this opens up an interesting field of computer or algorithmic driven art.

The EPD's can be programmed on a pixel level to display algorithm based images and once the image is created the computer (or the internet for that matter) is no longer needed.

At this moment small EPD's (1.4 - 2.9 inch) are already widely used in supermarkets (at least NL) as price tags on the shelves. Which makes them widely available.

Recently I have been able to obtain a batch for around 2 euro's a piece. But prices have been rising steadily recently. The latest batch is underway from china at around 4 euro a piece.

Currently working on a couple of series:

  • Freedom Of Speech

Expiriments using circles and squares (just like me early Helena's)

  • The Processor

  • Continued expiriments to generate the abstract processor diagram shape. Basically like the Processor Sketch

  • The Sea

  • Bezier curves galore.
